It’s Official. We have won the spot for the Drive 4UR Community Fundraiser with Cypress Motors. Thank you to all you awesome voters who made this possible. Please watch for the date to be announced for the event. Cypress motors will donate $20 to our local shelter for each person who test drives a car that day.
Thanks again to all the wonderful animal lovers who voted for us. Woot Woooooo!!!!!

3rd Annual Kitty Cat Walk Fashion Show & Adoption Fair

Come and join us for our 3rd Annual Kitty Cat Walk Fashion show with the merchants of the Swift Current Mall. Fashion show starts at 1pm on Saturday. We will have shelter animals and alumni to walk down the runway with the models. The adoption fair will be set up at the east end of the mall all day Saturday and Sunday. The Broncos Andy Blanke and Charlie Horse will be there on Saturday afternoon. We will be selling draw tickets to win a prize pack of merchandise and gift certificates worth over $200 from participating merchants at the Swift Current Mall.
Our favourite clown will also be there again making wonderful balloon animals to adopt for a minimum donation of $2.00. Come on down and enjoy the festivities!

Storm Damage

** UPDATE – Shelter has re-opened **
Due to the winds and winter storm this past weekend, we have suffered some damage in the roof area of the Shelter. Snow has made it’s way into the attic and melted, causing ceiling damage underneath. It could have been a lot worse, but we find ourselves needing to close the Shelter to the public for a couple of days while wet insulation is removed and repairs are undertaken. If you need to contact the Shelter, please phone ahead 773-1806 – we apologize for the inconvenience. We will post again on the Blog when we are ready to open.

Renovation Donation?

During our renovation we are hoping to replace our scrub room bath tub as it is in pretty rough condition. If you have recently renovated and have a second hand bath tub with a left hand drain in good condition we would gratefully accept any donation of a tub. If a set of faucets accompanies the tub that would be great too. Thanks for your help!

Dear Petfinder,

Mom didn’t find me on Petfinder though I think it helped her get to me.

My name is Sheila, I am an 11 month old Collie/Rottweiler and I had been at the pound for 3 months before my family came to get me. I was abused and returned before mom and dad picked me up but they have given me a good home.

My first day here was fun, I got all kinds of cool stuff even a pigs ear which a gobbled down because I had thrown up my lunch on the car ride home.

Dad was unsure of me at first but Mom says I have grown on him now. He even lets me sleep on his side of the bed.

I get to go out to my friends farm, his name is Bruno. At first I was afraid but mom said he was a good boy and we quickly became friends. I get to run off leash with him at the farm and we have a great time. Mom laughs at us and thinks its great till I run through the dill patch and get covered in sticky seeds which she has to pick out.

Mom says I saved her life but I think we saved each other. I am moms Christmas miracle and she is mine.

Thank you for bringing her into my life. I hope others are able to find good homes.
