Note that if you rent your home (ie apartment, house, duplex, etc.) and are interested in fostering or adopting through the Shelter, we require a letter from your landlord indicating permission to have pets on their properties.
Please understand that information given about our dogs is based on our observation, and what information was provided to us when the animal was received. Often such information is minimal, and you should always take the time to ascertain for yourself whether the dog you are interested in meets your needs and requirements. Chewy is a happy girl, who loves children. She has quite the leap, and is still learning her way out of puppyish behaviours. She knows some basic tricks, and knows when to play and when to obey.

Chewy lived on a farm for a few months and did not stray from home. She does however, enjoy the taste of small birds, including chickens, which led to her being brought to us. She lived with children and was fantastic with them. She also did not bother the cats too much, but did occasionally enjoy a chase or two with them.

Chewy is an exceptionally friendly girl who has a lot of energy. She will need an active family or a lot of space with which to burn this energy. She is a great all-around dog waiting for her chance at a happily ever after!
Scout came to us as a very un-socialized dog. He was scared of all men, and he was very frightened of children. He had never properly been introduced to dogs, and cats were an absolute mystery. Since coming to the shelter, he has made huge progress. He is happy to see everyone and has learned that people are not scary, and that if he is good, he gets treats and gets to go for walks!

Scout has learned how to sit, lay down, and is learning his way out of "mouthing" people when they greet him. He is learning how to wait to be harnessed to go for a walk. He is still learning that pulling on his leash while he is out for a walk gets him nowhere, but with a consistent effort, he will catch on quickly.

Scout loves to meet new dogs, but is still not great in his approach. He tends to be very pushy and does not have a sense of personal space. If his new home has another dog, we suggest a meet-and-greet to ensure that all parties get along.

Scout really is a sweet guy who is happy for all attention. His cute little grin on his face will have you smiling along with him. He learns quickly and is excited for all the new things that await him!
Todd is a great big puppy at heart. He loves to play, and has a TON of energy. He is learning manners, but initial introductions are often a flurry of excitement for him, and he forgets most of what he has learned. He likes going for long walks and would love to be able to play with other dogs, given the proper introductions.

Todd will need a home that is willing to offer him space and time with which to exercise. His manners on a leash are coming along thanks to the work of our excellent volunteers and as he matures, he is beginning to settle down.

Todd is a good looking dog with a lot of potential. He wants to learn, and he only needs you to take the time to teach him!

Phoenix is a really sweet guy, loving of attention and people of all ages. He has had some training done with him, and will obey basic commands. He is very much a people-loving dog, and is always excited when new people come to visit him.

Phoenix came from a family with young children and gets along with them wonderfully. He loves to play with new dogs and doesn`t stray from his family. Phoenix does not have any experience with cats, other than his brief encounters with a few of our felines in the front entrance. In almost every way, he is a phenomenal dog. His exuberant greeting will definitely bring a smile to your face while he steals your heart away.
McKinley is a very energetic and investigative little girl. She is the first one to try and discover everything about her surroundings, and has no fear. As a puppy, she loves to chew and race around with her brothers. She is a sweet little girl who is ready to give some love!

McKinley is the first puppy in our "Mountainous" litter.
Bruno is a sweet guy, who came to us as a stray from the town of Elrose. A kind rescuer took care of him while proceeding to try and find his original family or a new one. Unable to care for him permanently, he was brought to us.

Bruno had been taught manners in his previous home. He is gentle and quiet, and walks absolutely wonderfully on a leash. He has a big happy grin and a tail that seems to always be wagging. Bruno has shown no interest in chasing cats, and gets along with other dogs just fine.

Bruno will do best in a home with older children, if any. He does not like small children around his head or trying to climb on him. He would love to have a few animal friends of the canine variety to keep him company, but he would also be content to follow you around all day as well. He is a beautiful boy who is just waiting for his special someone.

Sienna is a sweet little puppy, ever loving of attention. Her personality is ready to be shaped by the family who is ready to give her a forever home.
Although we are still getting to know Miss Kim, what we have learned is that this shy little girl LOVES attention. Once she acquires a bit of confidence and becomes more comfortable with her new surroundings, we are sure she will make a great companion!
Fire is a sweet, but bit more reserved puppy. She views life with a solemn expression, still having yet to learn the fun that is involved with being a puppy. She has flashy good looks that will hopefully have someone falling in love with her in no time at all!

Ice is a very friendly little puppy, the first to greet you at the door. Her bright blue eyes have earned her quite a few admiring looks, and she is ready for a new family and to see what life is really all about!
We are still getting to know Dynamite. Please check back later for an updated description.
Twix is still a young boy, needing some correction in behaviours. Coming to us as an unsocialized boy, he needs a little extra time spent with him, teaching him that new animals and people are ok to be around. He has made great strides thus far, and with some additional help, he will easily become friends with anyone.

He is still learning that jumping is a bad thing, but does know how to sit and has developed some very good manners while walking on a leash. He would love the opportunity to meet and to play with other dogs. He has learned that not all cats like dogs, and that he needs to keep his distance. When Twix gets excited he becomes vocal, but with a bit more work, he will learn how to better channel his excitement.

This puppy learns quickly and just really wants to be your best friend. He likes to play with toys will try to do anything you ask, especially if treats are involved. This sweetheart is just waiting for you to come and give him a second chance at life!

Jay is a calm boy, taking new experiences in stride. He is very quiet, and well mannered, knowing that jumping is bad, and that if he is patient, people will always reach down to pet him. His calm view on life has us believing that he will make a phenomenal addition to almost any home. Come in and meet this great big sweetheart!
Everest has become quite the little explorer! Running at full speed as often as he can, there is never a point where could have ever fully investigated everything that there is to see. He is constantly looking, sniffing and, as puppies will, tasting. He is very soft and fluffy and enjoys attention. He very much likes to nibble and lick noses.

Everest is learning to come when called. He is also learning what "No" means, and the house training is coming along as well as can be expected. He is being taught that baths are a necessary part of his life and there is no need to be scared.

Everest is the sweet, chubby and cuddly puppy of the litter. His constant floppy ear makes him the most photogenic and cute model you could have ever hoped to have.

Everest is the second puppy in our "Mountainous" litter. He is currently out on foster, so please contact the shelter to arrange a time to meet him!
Kilimanjaro is the puppy that most looks like his father, a Chihuahua. Being the smallest of the litter, he still occasionally feels the need to let his brother and sister know that he can hold his own in a tussle. This little boy may not start the fights, but he will definitely finish them. He is a bit more obstinate that his siblings, but his cute little eyes have him forgiven almost immediately. Kilimanjaro loves his belly rubs, the first to roll over for them.

Kilimanjaro is still learning how to climb up and down steps, and with encouragement, he faces them with great bravery. He is also learning that baths are a necessary thing along with loud noises such as the blow dryer. He has also learned that the best place is on the first available lap that he can find. When he explorations are finished, he loves to curl up and have a snooze, resting in the cutest possible way.

Kilimanjaro is the third puppy in our "Mountainous" litter. He is currently in a foster home, so please call the shelter to arrange for a time to meet him!
