Another way we try to increase our capacity is by fostering some pets who have been assessed as healthy in the shelter. This means they are placed with a foster family outside the shelter for a period while the shelter helps support their care. This can also improve pet socialization. The pets eventually come back to the shelter to be adopted through the normal process. However, at present we have very few families who will accept foster animals and are always looking for more. For more information on starting the process to become a foster family contact the Shelter.
