A Community Of Care
Volunteer With Us
Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age, although younger children can volunteer if accompanied by an adult parent or guardian. If you or someone you know might be interested in helping out, don’t hesitate to reach out. You can also complete and submit the Volunteer Application form.
The Shelter
Anyone over 14 years of age (or under 14 and accompanied by an adult) is welcome to help us out at the shelter. Typically, our volunteers walk the dogs, clean kennels, and help with other duties as needed. All training, when necessary, is provided. Volunteers are also welcome to organize their own fundraising initiatives. From lemonade stands to large public events, everything helps, and we’d be happy to discuss your idea with you! Get in touch with us at scspcafundraiser@gmail.com.

Become a Foster
Fostering a pet is a rewarding experience, for both you and the animal you welcome into your home! Oftentimes an animal that comes to the shelter will have a hard time adjusting while they await adoption, and fostering allows us to make space at the shelter for incoming pets in need.
As a foster, you choose the type of animal to take in, and the length of the stay can vary. We can discuss times and placements that work best for you and our pets, and we’ll support the pet over the duration of its stay with you, including veterinary costs.
By living with and observing the animal, you help us gain a better understanding of it and the adoptive person or family it might best be placed with.
We are also always seeking ASK (Animal Safekeeping) fosters to place pets in temporary care while their owners find safer living situations. Please indicate in your application if you are interested in learning more about this program.
If you’re interested in fostering, give us a call at (306) 773-1806 or fill in the application form below. We can’t wait to hear from you!
